Five years ago, I started posting at MND.  It started with a dissertation on Chivalry.

Five years later people still toss the word around with no idea of what it means.

Go around MRA sites and it is spoken of in tones of scathing and sneering contempt, when it should not be.

One sided chivalry?  Certainly.  But it isn’t chivalry.  It’s a perversion of chivalry, of the way of the warrior, of western Bushido.  It’s a Victorian romanticism of it.

Looks like Bill Belicheat has been taping opponent’s practices (Read: CHEATING) ever since he started as a head coach.

It seems there has been a shooting of some kid in Oxnard, and already dyke-preistess of the “Goddess” Susan Russell* is starting to bang the drum of “Straight on Gay” hate crime.

Let’s wait for a few facts, eh wot, Susie?

Number one, the kid is 15, and in 8th grade.  Most the kids I knew in 8th grade were 13.  So the kid obviously has some issues if he is two years behind.  We are pointed to an “ongoing dispute” in the story.  Really?  Could it be a kid who should be halfway through hig school might be picking on a younger kid?  Hmmm - could it be that a gay kid might be sexually harassing another kid who may or not be gay himself?  Maybe he forced himself on his killer?

Absolutely. “That’s speculation, Gonz!”  Sure as hell is, and no more so that Susan Russell’s jump to label it some hate crime.  (And sure as fucking hell, if a two year older boy had been forcing his attentions on a jr. high school girl who shot him, we’d have her and/or her kind leading the “Free this Grrrrl!” charge.)

Sooooo … since in the story the information to the press from official sources is locked down tighter than a drum, what say we wait for some facts?  And I say this because Sue might want to see what the truth is before she starts singing “We Shall Overcome” - she’d really look like a fucking idiot if it turned out to be a shooting over a drug deal, or a lover’s spat.

And if said shooter was the victim of sexually based bullying or harassment by the shootee, this would take on a twist of Crystal Gayle Mangumesque proportions.

I know she’d probably wet herself if it did indeed turn out that a younger kid “got him a gun and iced him a homo” but I seriously doubt it is as simple as that - and the Occam’s Razor on that says that the shooter was probably the recipient(victim) of some sort of bullying by the victim.

* Unfair?  Let’s see.  A lesbian, a female preist (Which is a preistess, look it up in your dictionary) , who writes at the bottom of that story “May the God who loved you beyond your wildest imaginings gather you now into Her arms of love.”  I mean, shit, if the stark truth “sounds” bad, it is because why?  I report it for what it is?

The femisphere is all atitter about some woman who wrote a column, urging women to settle. Of course, the usual straw men are erected, which we won’t belabor.

Okay. Let’s take a look at the standards a 40 year old woman of my acquaintance has:

1) Has to be near her age

2) Doesn’t want “baggage.” (This used to mean “Never Married.” Now it means “At least a year past any divorce or break up and single and available.”)
3) Has to have a “job.” (Note, that owners of their own business, or men who make their money through investments are considered unemployed by her.)

4) Has to be “hot.”

5) Has to be a sexual superman.

6) Must be more educated than her.

7) Has to want children - even though she is beginning menopause, and has been trying to get pregnant all her life.

If these are not affirmative - all of them - there will be no further discussion from her. These are writ in stone, and must be answered before she will entertain a thought of even going out for coffee.

Bets, friends, on what her marital status is when she is 70 or so?

Note also, that there is not one qualification on personal character.

In addition, while moderately attractive, she is no knockout, is slightly overweight, works in a job which doesn’t use her degree, and works in a feast or famine field.

This is what is meant by settling; and despite feminists assurances that they know of “no woman, nope, not a single, solitary one” who has stanbdards like this, we all can come up with examples.  I wish I could say that she was the only one I know.

Got into a mini debate last night about torture and waterboarding.

The question was posed to me(paraphrasing), “Gonz, if you had someone captive who knew where a kidnapped loved one of your was, or who otherwise had information that would save their life from an imminent and credible threat, what lengths would you go to?”

Wow.

It’s hard to look inward honestly.  One of my kids?  Lord.

And I have to say, they would long for the raptures of Hell if they wouldn’t give it up.

Mitt Romney:  If John Kerry were a Republican, he would be Mitt Romney.
