How many times have we heard that crap?  Tripe, nonsense, balderdash, bullshit….

No matter what comes up, some snake-oil salesmanperson of a feminist pops up and starts shrilly shrieking “Feminism isn’t monolithic! We don’t all think alike! There is no feminist handbook! There is no feminist position!”

Really?  Do tell.

Now I can believe that not everything has a feminist position.  I am sure that there is no feminist position on whether the new shelves in the library of Bugtussle, Iowa are stained cherry or walnut (Unless one of the contractors bidding is owned by a disabled lesbian of color in which case you have to divide her bid by four); and God knows there might well not be a feminist position on this issue - they still come out for Hitlery Klintoon and heaven knows she has done the whole “Stand by Your Man” routine.

But every single time someone does a critique of feminism, and the same gang pops their head up and denies that feminists hold such views.  Present them with evidence that a feminists does hold that view, and they will say it is a view apart from feminism.  Point out that it is in a book on feminism and used in women’s studies classes, and they will say it’s not widely supported and just one view, show rave reviews, and they say not all feminists believe that….

For a couple years now I have had a standing challenge.  Any feminist, any at all, to come in here, email me, what have you a two-part list.  Five things you have to believe to be a feminist.  And five things you CANNOT believe and be a feminist.  I have my MRA list - I get that email, that post, and it will take the time it takes for me to get to the system my list is on, and I will post the two together.  Hell, I have my Christian list, my Catholic list, my Conservative list and my Libertarian list.

So far - all I hear is the sound of crickets.

Hell.  Maybe Phyllis Schaefley, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, and Vox Day ought to declare themselves to be feminists.  Heh.  Maybe I should.  Oh, wouldn’t that just get their panties in a wad?  And they couldn’t say I’m not - hey, no feminist credentials, right? - without saying WHY not. I am amused to the point of giggles at the thought.

So I am over at a friend’s house tasting his homemade wines - He’s thinking of planting a full vinyard and opening a small winery in a few years - and his high-school age kids are having a discussion about evolution, mutations, natural selection, et al.

Now, for myself, I have no problem with evolution.  Science is a limited system, and when used within those limits, oberservation of the material universe being one, it is very useful.  It can tell us “how” on many things - “Why” is for philosophers and theologians.  Observation of the universe, evolution - to me this is finding the fingerprints of God.  I believe God made the universe, and physical science can see “how” and observe the laws he put into being.

Anyway - I’m most entertained.

One of the more fundamentalist kids there is arguing against evolution.  He’s opining that most mutations are detrimental, so I counter that most such mutations - birth defects, if you will - don’t make it sufficiently into the general population because they are not conducive to survival of the species.

Afgter more discussion, when we are trying to nail down what constitutes a “birth defect” because, after all, in the sightless world the man with one eye is king, my friend puts forth the idea, which is accepted by everyone, that you can classify a mutation as a defect if you imagine that the whole of the species has it - if it would cause the species to die out, it is a defect.  Blue eyes - mere mutation.  Fingerless hands - birth defect.

So after digesting this one of the kids says, “So, if everyone was gay, there would be no more generations of new humans.  So is that a birth defect?”

Well … yeah.  It would have to be, wouldn’t it?  It may not make much of a difference for an individual to survive, but it would play hell with the continuance of the species as a whole.

A gay teenager who sought sanctuary in Britain when his boyfriend was executed in Iran is battling authorities who want to return him to his home country.

Mehdi Kazemi, 19, came to London to study English in 2005 but later discovered that his boyfriend had been arrested by the Iranian police, charged with sodomy and hanged.

Mr Kazemi was told by his father in Tehran that his boyfriend had been questioned about his sexual relationships before his execution in April 2006 and named him under interrogation.

Mr Kazemi claimed asylum in Britain, fearing for his life if he returned to Iran but his case was refused late last year. He fled Britain for the Netherlands, where he is now being detained.

He appeared before a Dutch court this week to fight his return to Britain, where he fears authorities will send him back to Iran.

In a letter to the British government, Mr Kazemi told Home Secretary Jacqui Smith: “I wish to inform the Secretary of State that I did not come to the UK to claim asylum. I came here to study and return to my country.

“But in the past few months my situation back home has changed. The Iranian authorities have found out that I am a homosexual and they are looking for me.”

Peter Tatchell of the gay rights campaign group Outrage, and one of Mr Kazemi’s supporters, said a Dutch appeal court was expected to decide soon whether to grant him permission to apply for asylum in Holland or send him back to Britain.

Mr Tatchell said: “The Home Office decision to deport Mehdi back to Iran is shameful and reckless. If returned to Tehran, he will be at risk of imprisonment, torture and execution.”

A Home Office spokeswoman said the Government did not comment on individual cases, but added: “The UK government is committed to providing protection for those individuals found to be genuinely in need, in accordance with our commitments under international law.”

1) This is what those who are against illegal migration ask:
a) That those coming in here stop at the appointed checkpoint on the border.
b) They get in line and wait their turn.
c) They identify themselves.
d) They state their business.
e) They either ask to become citizens, or say how long they will be staying.
f) And finally, they demonstrate how they intend to support themselves during their stay.

(Provision, of course, being made for asylum for those who are deserving, whether such asylum is economic, political, etc.)

So - YES or NO - Are these too much, to onerous, or unreasonable to ask to ask?

2) If “NO” please identify by letter which ones in the above you object to.

3) From (2) - would you allow anyone into your own home under those terms?  YES or NO?

4) If the answer to (3) is no, please explain why you are not a hypocrite.

Until I get an answer to those, you are just blowing wind of the political sort.

The feminist sites I have been on have already started in on the whole “Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” schtick. Time to call them out for being racist bitches.  You’ll be able to get the “Feminists of Color” jumping on that in a big hurry.

2)  So when did Gonzo come out for state intrusion?

The state has already intruded.  As I have pointed out elsewhere, no state involvement is an all or nothing thing.  You want the state completely out?  I’ll agree - sure you want to walk that path with me?  That means the whole paternity thing is out - your body, your problem.  And kiss WIC and any other welfare out.  That’s the state.  Who does child support?  State.

Exactly how will this magically make a woman and man who both decide to keep silent from her saying “Father unknown” and him clamming up.  Might make them LIVE with that choice - but why is that bad?  They could still decide to marry and him adopt later.

Does this bill somehow forbid a non-father from stepping up?  Where?  Is there some provision in the bill that would prevent this that isn’t evident?  It specifically ALLOWS adoption.

And more objections.

Most of them assume that every man “just wants to get out of being a father and paying support” - just like the feminists complain is what we are all about.

I got news - it’s not about “getting out of responsibilities.”  It’s having to shoulder your own share of the responsibility, a good part of hers, and having to fight like fucking hell to get even a fraction of the rights you should have enforced for you in even a half assed way, while hers are assumed and honored.

It’s about the guys who work like hell to provide for a family, and then come to find out the family isn’t his, she’s moved out and shacked up with the father, he’s still paying, and doesn’t get to see the kids he raised, sweated for, and gave up his dreams to provide for - all the time while she gets a free ride.

This won’t - in any way - prevent a man from saying “I never planned to be a father” and her saying “Good, I don’t want you to be either - so when they ask, I will say that I don’t know.”  How can a “paternity test” be done on “Man X?”

There’s not a thing in this bill, as reported, that indicates a man wouldn’t be able to adopt - if he chose - a child that wasn’t his.  (Bonus:  If a man does sign on and she knows who the father is - and refuses to identify him - it will be a world of hurt for her, but nobody will go after the “Noble Man” who put his name down when he knew the baby wasn’t his if the chickens come home to roost.)

It’ll sure as hell effect women who decide in the heat of their “indy-pen-dence” that they are going to be single mothers, then decide later when the going gets tough that they need a sugar-daddy; I can just imagine a lawyer asking, “MS. Smythe - I have a signed affadavit from you saying that you had no way of knowing who this child’s father was - now you claim you do 20 months later?  Did the Archangel Gabriel somehow reveal this to you in the intervening months? You realize that affadavit is a legal document under penalties of perjury, and you are admitting to a felony, right?  Tell me - MIZZ Smythe - were you lying then - or are you lying now? Why should we grant a new paternity test - that you waived already - to you, based on your testimony, when we know you are a liar?”

It will sure as hell effect the women who are lying, cheating, adulterous sluts.  Which is a good thing.  Decent, honest, faithful wives and women?  Ya’ll have not a worry in the world.

Break up families?  Methinks if a man is married to a woman who fucks around on him and allows hjerself to be impregnated that he is better off - that family needs to be broken up.  Man knocks up a mistress, it breaks up a family - well it should.  Why should Wifey get a pass?

Make some children live at a lower standard of living when Mrs Golddigger 2008 gets knocked up by the poolboy?  Well - who’s fucking fault is that?  Might not be “The CHIIIIIIIIIILD’s” fault - sure as hell ain’t the sucke … the man.

Let the blame rest where it belongs.
