George Tiller was and is no martyr.
George Tiller was a murderer. An unabashed, unapologetic serial killer, and you’ll pardon me if I weep no crocodile tears on his passing.
As a Libertarian, I’ve taken a reluctantly pro-choice position on abortion, namely, that it is a state’s rights issue. I care what is done in Indiana. I live here. I care the the Federal Government has seen fit to shove its vision of things down our throats. There are legitimate medical reasons to abort, and I am not a purist in that regard, nor would I have a woman who was raped be forced to bear her rapist’s child, though I’d be more comfortable if she got a D&C (Just look it up, on the 8th day God made Google) right away.
Long as you don’t ask me to pay or it - sacrifice your children to Moloch out in California. Pass out needles and horse in NY in the park. Gay sex on demand in Massachusetts. I don’t give a fuck. Destroy your culture, destroy your future, bankrupt yourselves.
That’s political. Fact is, you can’t effectively police abortion anymore than you can effectively police drug use, so you probably are wasting time and money to try.
Personally? Religiously? Abortion as birth control? Which is what 99% of abortions are, is birth control - you’re a murderer. Period. I don’t care what the rationalizations are, at the end of the day what you have done is kill a baby that is inconvenient. You’re a killer if you get one, do one, or assist in giving one.
And on those grounds, as far as I am concerned, George Tiller was one of the most prolific serial killers of all time, and I didn’t mourn Ted Bundy or Jeffery Dahmer. And compared to Tiller the Babykiller, they were fucking pikers.
I’m not trying to persuade anyone to my point of view. If you got one, it was legal, and I’d not enact an ex-post facto law to “get” you. Morally, though, it was a great evil. As a Christian you can repent, and good on you if you have. If you haven’t…
I really don’t care if you go to Hell. You don’t believe in Hell? Okay. Pray you are right. I don’t give a fuck, it is not my job to evangelize or convert you, it’s my job to tend to my own business and leave that to the experts ordained to do those things. You want to convert, fine, and if I believe you are sincere I will walk you to church and hold your hand through baptism, confirmation, reception into the church, and first communion. You don’t. Your call. Don’t wake up early waiting for me to knock on your door on Saturday morning. And when the doors of heaven shut on you, don’t look for me doing any tilty-headed peering out at you.
I won’t be praying for Tiller or his killer. In the case of the former, it’s too late for the damned. In the case of the latter - work out your own salvation in fear and trembling, as the book says. In the short term gratification you got from getting one murderer, you’ve enabled the pro-death folks to elevate a martyr, and set the pro-life cause back with your idiocy. Short term thinking in a long term struggle. You haven’t saved a single baby, they will go elsewhere and find Tiller the Second, all you did was get some dubious revenge.
As for his “church” I make no judgments on his denomination, every church has its rogues. No doubt it’s as likely - especially with protestants - that some “progressive” pastors will make a statement about how oh-so-enlightened and liberated they are. Even in the “Patriarchal and oppressive” Catholic church, it’s not easy to bring rogues to heel, so in a less hierarchical church, such things are harder. Witness Notre Dame, honoring pro-death Barack Obama.
That such a murderer was an usher in his church is a mark of shame for that particular congregation.
We’ve an occupant of the White House who is all for - all fucking for - having a baby who survived an abortion die on the floor. We know this because he has voted for legislation, not just once, which would prohibit this. He offers the lame excuse that it’s “not needed” because somehow it is already prohibited, even though it was proposed precisely to stop it from happening as the incidents were unprosecutable.
So if you’re a voter for him, a supporter of him - fuck off. I don’t want to listen to your crocodile tears and political grandstanding about how wong it is, when you, through your votes and support, enable the murder of babies. You have no conviction of life if you support that, it should be a deal-breaker for any soi disant pro-life person. Your seamless garment is rent. All you are doing is hypocritically making hay, and you’re a phony poser. Doubly so if you are a so-called Christian. The Church - christianity as a whole - has consistanty taught the wrongness of abortion for centuries, and your citing of the same, marginal, and out-of-context at most times bits of speculative theology - from people who do not articulate doctrine of the church - is as bogus as the day is long. You’re a heretic, an apostate, and a deceiver.
And especially when most of the left wing is actually celebrating his death as an opportunity to make political hay out of it, even though a full day of digging has failed to produce any links to pro-life groups. So stick it in your ear. Chances are, deep down, you secretly rejoice in his death. Hey - never let a tragedy or crisis to go waste as an opportunity to play politics - isn’t that the Rahm Emmanuel/Obama doctrine?
No, no praise or support of his killer. But no tears for Gerge the Babykiller.
He doesn’t even rate a “good riddance.” Just the observation that he who lives by the sword - or any other metaphor - dies by it. If he went to church, he knew that.
